Vaginal Weight Lifting Is a Thing – and Other Ways to Tighten Your Vagina

We use weights in our workouts to strengthen our core and work our biceps, so why not use them for vaginal tightening and strengthening too? No?

Sex and relationship coach, and vaginal weightlifter, Kim Anami, popularised vaginal weight lifting a couple of years back. She started an Instagram hashtag #ThingsILiftWithMyVagina and she lifted things from tropical fruits, a bottle of cold-pressed juice, to a surfboard with her vaginal.

How did she do that? First, she attached a string to a jade egg which she inserted into her vagina, and on the other end of the string is whatever she wanted to lift that day. She’s a strong advocate of vaginal weightlifting as she said that it will strengthen the pelvic floor muscles more effectively than traditional Kegel exercise, and gives women more sexual confidence.

Vaginal weight lifting pros and cons

Strengthening your pelvic floor muscles is indeed beneficial, and the increased blood to your genitals can work wonders in the bedroom too. You may experience enhanced sexual arousals, and stronger contractions may help you achieve a more intense climax during sex. Besides that, a stronger grip can give your partner increased pleasure too.

Apart from these bedroom benefits, vaginal weight lifting does have legit health benefits too. Strong pelvic floor muscles can ease urinary incontinence and prevent urine leakage that is common after childbirth, and also prevent uterine prolapse.

With anything that is inserted into your body, be doubly sure that the jade (or any other material it is made of) egg is washed and cleaned, and wash your hands before insertion to prevent infections. If you are a beginner, always start with smaller items and gradually increase the weight of your items to be lifted as you move along. But do be warned that vaginal muscles aren’t meant to stay contracted all the time and doing that may cause pelvic floor dysfunctions further down the road.

While vaginal weight lifting seems to have its benefits, it isn’t exactly a workout you can do anywhere and it may not be everyone’s cup of tea. It is always good to seek your doctor’s opinion before embarking on this journey to make sure that it is safe for you.
