Multi-Masking: The Latest In Skincare Trend

Time is of the essence and multi-masking might just be the answer.

Encouraging words indeed and if applied well, it can make chores and responsibilities more manageable. And apparently, time and resource management works well even in skincare with the concept of multi-masking.

This latest skincare trend is very much like multi-tasking where you get several things done at the same time. It sounds simple enough; you apply several layers of facemasks to address different skin issues at one go. Areas such as the T-Zone, eyes and cheeks have different needs.

For example, your nose, forehead and chin may be oily but your cheeks are dry so putting on just one mask may not be that effective. What about the lips? Together with the under-eye area, they are one of the most delicate and require a little more special attention when it comes to treatments and care.

For this multi-masking concept to work, it requires us to know our skin condition inside and out. We would also need to invest in a multitude of masks to apply to different parts of our face. This high-level of customisation is also what any good facial therapist would do during treatment facials so some people might just leave it in the hands of the therapist.

Whether you decide to DIY or outsource, the message is the same: we must treat our skin well.

“Irrespective of age, we should always maintain our skin and, prevent age and sun damage from taking a toil on our face,” says Dr Terence Tan, Director of Halley Medical Aesthetics.
