Skin firming skincare products: How long before results show?

For instance, many of us use anti-aging or firming products on a daily basis to stave off the impact of aging. But don’t expect miracles overnight, you will need to use it for a while for it to be effective.

“Researchers have shown that it takes about two to three months for new collagen in skin to be produced in significant amounts,” says Dr. Terence Tan, Director of Halley Medical Aesthetics. “This time frame collaborates with the clinical improvement that we see when we do procedures which stimulate collagen, like Ultherapy.” He explains that improvement from an Ultherapy treatment can be seen generally after two months and the skin will continue to tighten up to six months after the procedure.

“Likewise, effective firming or anti-wrinkle products take between two to four months of consistent use for significant improvement in skin quality,” adds Dr. Tan.
