Now that you know the nutrients you need in your food for firmer facial skin, the second step to Halley’s firming formula is to nourish your skin. “What we don’t want is for consumers to buy into fads,” says Dr. Terence Tan when he was revealing his firming formula during a beauty media event in July. “And it can get very confusing especially when consumers are constantly bombarded by beauty brands telling them what they need all the time.”
Halley’s Firming Formula: Nourish, hydrate, and defend
Optimise your skincare regime by nourishing and treating your skin with ingredients that defend against ageing and promote collagen generation. So what are some key nutrients you need in your skin care products?
– Retinoids like Differin because they increase skin renewal and repair sun damaged skin.
– Peptides, collagen, and vitamin C for firming and wrinkle care.
– Arbutin, vitamin C, licorice, co-enzyme Q10, and niacinamide for an evening out skin tone and pigment care.
– Vitamins A, C, and E, centella asiatica, and ginseng extract for age defence and anti-photoaging.
– Hyaluronic acid, ceramide, squalane, and aloe vera for hydration and fullness.

Before you move on to the third and final step of the firming formula, be sure to exfoliate. The exfoliation process removes the top layer of unhealthy and dead skin. This allows new skin to grow and therefore increases fibroblast activity.
