When it comes to selecting an aesthetics clinic for your dermal filler to enhance an important asset—your face, it shouldn’t be a game of “eeny, meeny, miny, moe”. So what are the three most important things you must check off before you decide?
With so many clinics located throughout Singapore, consumers of medical aesthetic services these days are spoilt for choice. The Internet has also made us ‘smarter’ consumers, allowing us to do research on the treatments that can address our problems and shortlist clinics that can help us with those issues.
But after evaluating the usual factors like price, place, environment, technology or product used, how does one decide which clinic or doctor to go to? There is no easy answer for that, and it’s a topic we can discuss with our BFFs forever because getting a filler, threadlift, Ultherapy® or Botox® treatment for our face is a BIG deal. It is especially true for treatments like 3D projection using fillers as it essentially fills up the imperfections and sculpts our face—our precious face—the way we like.
So during your long consultation with your doctor (which we’re sure you would), we suggest three things that you need to check off before going ahead with the procedure:
Dermal Filler: Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.
What is your doctor’s definition of beauty? You are enhancing an asset that you put forward to the world every day so understand your doctor’s sense of aesthetics. What he/she defines as beautiful should gel with yours.
Dermal Filler: Medical Aesthetics is an art as well as a science.
Aesthetics aside, the technique matters too, and you need to be comfortable with it. For nose filler treatment, for instance, some doctors inject a few individual drops of filler on the nose bridge, which they will then smoothen out by massage later. While some doctors use a micro-cannula, which slides under your skin for an even fill.
Dermal Filler: Laugh a little.
Getting a dermal filler or any other medical aesthetic treatment done for that matter, can be a rather unnerving process for some. So the doctor’s bedside manner is important. If he/she can make you laugh away the tension, chat till you forget the discomfort, or is someone whom you’re not afraid to confide in or crack a joke with, then put a check in this box.
Life’s too short to be stressed over looking good, and we might as well have fun while doing it.
